Happy Trails, Charlotte: Growing Skills, Confidence, and a Friendship to Keep

There are moments at My Learning Farm when my heart feels a little too full for words. Watching a student step into her next chapter—confident, capable, and ready—is one of them. Charlotte, I am so incredibly proud of you.

Over the years, you have worked hard, stayed determined, and grown into the amazing student and young woman you are today. What a privilege it has been to share in that journey. We have had reading adventures, explored math, enjoyed farm classes, and fit in plenty of laughter along the way. Somehow, between all those lessons and discoveries, you grew in skills, confidence, joy—and quite a bit in height!

I keep thinking about all the places you have read here. The memories almost call for a silly little rhyme: you have read here and there, with puppies nearby and chicks peeping away. You have read near goats and horses, beside the pond, on the tractor, at the swing, and in the greenhouse. So many places. So many pages. So much growing.

And through it all, you were the one doing the work. You practiced. You persevered. You brought your determination, your curiosity, and your wonderful self to our time together. I had the joy of teaching you, cheering you on, and watching those skills take root.

One of the sweetest parts of this story is that the little girl who came to learn and explore at farm class now helps make those experiences possible for other children. Charlotte, seeing you become a farm class helper has been such a gift. You are now part of the kindness, friendship, and fun that welcome younger children to the farm. Watching that circle unfold makes me smile more than I can say.

This is why the relationships here mean so much to me. Over the years, we get to know one another. We share stories, laugh together, work through challenges, and celebrate the moments when something clicks and skills sky-rocket. A lesson becomes a memory. Trust grows. A friendship takes shape.

To Charlotte’s family: thank you. Thank you for every drive to the farm, for making room in your days for our time together, and for supporting My Learning Farm through the years. Most of all, thank you for trusting me with someone you love so dearly.

I do not take that trust lightly. It has been a privilege to be one of the people in Charlotte’s corner, helping her grow and celebrating the person she is becoming.

And now, sweet girl, you have a bright future ahead. I believe so deeply in your ability to work toward whatever you set your mind to. Carry that determination with you. Keep your kindness close. Let your faith steady you when the path feels uncertain, and leave room for joy, friendship, and plenty of laughter.

I will miss our lessons and the familiar rhythm of learning together. But I am so grateful for what comes next, too: the chance to keep cheering you on as our friendship continues.

Happy trails, Charlotte. Walk into the world with joy, love, and faith. You are so very loved, and you will always have someone cheering for you here at My Learning Farm.

With so much pride and love,

Ms. Sara 💛
