Spelling Intervention & Support at My Learning Farm (Grades K–12)
Spelling is a complex skill that relies on multiple cognitive and academic processes, including phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, orthographic knowledge, alphabetic understanding, memory retrieval, and the ability to apply these skills in both reading and writing.
At My Learning Farm, we use evidence-based, phonics-focused, multi-sensory spelling programs tailored to each student’s needs. Our 1:1 spelling sessions are structured, engaging, and designed to improve spelling accuracy, expand vocabulary, and strengthen word meaning comprehension.
Spelling Programs We Offer:
All About Spelling (Grades K–12)
A 7-level, Orton-Gillingham-based spelling program that covers over 200 English spelling rules. This program provides explicit, sequential instruction using multi-sensory techniques to develop strong spelling foundations.
Structured Word Inquiry (Grades K–12)
This student-centered method explores spelling through word structure, etymology (word origins), and meaning. It builds deep understanding and connection between words, improving spelling, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
Word Roots (Grades 3–12)
This 5-level program teaches prefixes, roots, and suffixes through multi-sensory strategies to build spelling and vocabulary skills while encouraging critical thinking and deeper word knowledge.
Morpheme Magic (Grades 4–12)
A structured 53-lesson program that focuses on morphological awareness. Students learn Greek and Latin roots, prefixes, and suffixes to increase vocabulary and improve spelling accuracy in word families.
