Here's my approach
Spelling requires multiple academic skills that work simultaneously including phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, orthographic knowledge, alphabetic understanding and word from memory retrieval, writing & reading application. My Learning Farm utilizes several explicit, multi-sensory, phonics-based spelling programs to utilize the BEST one for your child to build spelling skills, increase vocabulary and understanding or word meanings.
All About Spelling Grades K-12
My Learning Farm utilizes a 7-level Orton-Gillingham phonics-based spelling program that brings students through over 200 spelling rules in the English language. This program uses explicit instruction, multi-sensory techniques to build strong spelling foundations.
Structured Word Inquiry Grades K-12
Structured Word Inquiry is a student-centered methodology to teach an understanding of spelling using word structure, etymology (the study of the origin of words), meaning and connection.
Word Roots Grades 3-12
Teaches morphology, etymology through explicit multi-sensory instruction in spelling patterns of word prefixes, roots, suffixes to build spelling skills, vocabulary and greater critical thinking skills through a 5 level program.
Morpheme Magic Grades 4-12
Build morphological skills to improve spelling, increase vocabulary and increase word understanding in word families to understand Greek and Latin word roots, prefixes and suffixes in 53 structured lessons.
Spelling sessions are 1:1 and are always multi-sensory, with guided, supported and independent practice for spelling mastery.
All student supplies are provided.
