Read-Aloud Literature & Vocabulary Class

Tuesdays • 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM • Grades 2–6

A joyful, inclusive reading experience for all students.

Cost: $600 per semester (payments accepted charter PO and Venmo @Sara-mattia)
Fall Semester: August–December.          Spring Semester: January–May

 A Reading Class That Welcomes Every Learner

The My Learning Farm Read-Aloud Literature Class for the 2026–27 school year is a warm, engaging experience designed for students who benefit from structured support, rich vocabulary exposure, meaningful discussion, creative projects, and the magical presence of farm animals.

 Ms. Sara will do ALL of the reading aloud, so students can access and enjoy the stories without the pressure of decoding. This makes the class perfect for beginning readers, struggling readers, students with dyslexia, or any child who needs support to participate fully and confidently.

With a maximum of 12 students, each child receives individualized attention while enjoying a supportive, joyful learning community on our peaceful family farm.

What Students Experience in This Read-Aloud Class

Guided Read-Alouds (Ms. Sara Reads Everything!)  Students relax, listen, and enjoy as Ms. Sara reads each novel aloud—bringing characters, emotions, themes, and vocabulary to life.


 Who This Class Is Perfect For

This class is ideal for students who:

  • struggle with reading comprehension

  • have dyslexia or suspected reading challenges

  • feel anxious or discouraged around reading

  • love stories but aren’t ready to read longer texts independently

  • need structured vocabulary development

  • enjoy crafts, animals, and hands-on learning

  • learn best in a warm, small-group environment 

 Crafts & Creative Projects

Stories are extended through hands-on activities, including:

  • art projects

  • character crafts

  • setting-based creations

 

Farm Animal Interactions

Animals provide comfort, calm, and connection—helping students feel grounded and ready to learn.

 

Novels We May Explore

Titles may include:

  • Charlotte’s Web

  • Because of Winn-Dixie

  • Stuart Little

  • Little House in the Big Woods

  • The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane

  • Additional classic and high-interest novels

Each book is paired with vocabulary, discussion, writing, and hands-on projects.
