Give Your Child the Gift of a Novel This Spring
Some gifts invite children into a whole new world—one filled with adventure, imagination, and characters who stay with them long after the last page.
This spring, My Learning Farm READS! will explore My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George. Through Sam’s adventures in the wilderness, we’ll discover a story filled with nature, resourcefulness, independence, and connections to the world around us.

Give your child the gift of experiencing a novel with friends, creativity, and plenty of support.
A story everyone can enjoy
I read the novel aloud, so children can enjoy a rich story even when reading a longer book independently feels challenging. Together, we pause to wonder, ask questions, explore vocabulary, and connect the characters’ experiences to our own lives.

Our learning continues beyond the pages through:
Activities and crafts inspired by the novel.
Games that bring vocabulary and story details to life.
Supported writing activities that help children organize and share their ideas.
Conversations and connections about characters, choices, nature, and ourselves.
An intentionally small class of only 10 students, allowing plenty of individual attention, encouragement, and support.
Children have room to participate, build friendships, and feel proud of what they have to say.
