The Greatest Gift I Could Ever Receive

Every once in a while, a moment happens that reminds me exactly why I do this work.

Yesterday, one of my students visited My Learning Farm with his family. He picked up a book, gathered his grandmother, cousins, and sister in our little reading nook and proudly read them a story.

Not because anyone asked him to-because he wanted to. As I stood quietly watching, my heart could have burst with pride.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm sooooooooooo proud of you!!!!!!!

Not so long ago, reading felt difficult. Every word took effort. Every page required courage. But through consistent practice, explicit instruction, determination, and the unwavering support of his family, he has blossomed into a confident reader.

There is no test score, certificate, or benchmark that compares to watching a child joyfully read aloud to the people they love. That is what success looks like.

Moments like these remind me that reading is about so much more than words on a page. It's about confidence. It's about connection. It's about believing in yourself.

To every family who trusts me with their child's learning journey, thank you. Watching each student grow in skill, confidence, and joy is the greatest privilege of my work.

It truly doesn't get any better than that.

🌱 At My Learning Farm, we're growing readers—but even more importantly, we're growing confident kids who believe in themselves.
