Thank You ❤️
Before anything else, thank you.
To the incredible crew at Fire Door Services—Nick, Chris, Crash, Jared, Mikey, AJ, and Harry—thank you for helping bring one of the biggest dreams of My Learning Farm to life-READS! I know I was probably your most “extra” customer. I peeked in often, took pictures, made change orders, expanded the scope, and definitely had “just one more idea” more times than anyone should reasonably tolerate. But I was also your most grateful customer.
Because you didn’t just build walls and spaces—you helped build a dream.
You took the vision I carried in my heart for students who learn differently and made it real. You created something beautiful for children who deserve beautiful things.
At My Learning Farm, I work with children who often arrive feeling frustrated, discouraged, overwhelmed, and unsure of themselves. Many of them have spent years believing learning is supposed to look one certain way, and if it doesn’t, maybe something is wrong with them. But I get to witness something different.
I get to watch confidence grow. I get to see children who once felt defeated begin to believe in themselves again. I get to watch families exhale. I get to remind students that they are capable, worthy, intelligent, and deeply valued. I have always believed they deserve a space that reflects that.
A place that feels calm, intentional, and safe. A place that feels beautiful. A place that quietly tells them, without words, you matter, you are seen, and you are worth all of this. That dream became even bigger with the creation of My Learning Farm READS!
And now, it is (nearly) finished. It is beautiful. And my heart is so full.
My Learning Farm READS! 🌿📖
After years of working with children in reading, writing, spelling, and academic support, I noticed something that stayed with me—many children simply weren’t choosing to read. Not because they weren’t capable. Not because they weren’t curious. But often because books had started to feel heavy.
For some children, reading becomes associated with pressure, frustration, and feeling behind. They would rather keep the book shut than open it. They miss opportunities to grow vocabulary, to connect deeply with stories, and to experience the joy that books can bring. And I kept thinking… what if we could change that?
What if we created a space where books felt joyful again? A place where there was no pressure to perform, no fear of getting it wrong, and no expectation that they had to be the one doing the reading. Just stories. Curiosity. Connection. Wonder. So I had a little crazy idea...
What if I built a magical space that didn’t feel like school? A place where children could listen to the soft sounds of the farm, feel the warm sun shining through the greenhouse windows, enjoy a gentle breeze, and cozy up on a daybed surrounded by beautiful antiques and peaceful spaces. A place where I would do all of the reading.
Together, we could take deep dives into vocabulary, meaningful discussions, written responses, short essays, novel studies, crafts, animals, and all the beautiful learning that grows from truly experiencing a story.
It wouldn’t look like a classroom. It wouldn’t feel like a classroom. It would feel like belonging. It felt a little like Field of Dreams—"if you build it, they will come."
And so, My Learning Farm READS! was born.
This new literacy experience is designed for students in grades 2–6, especially for reluctant readers, not-yet-confident readers, and children who simply need a different path to connect with books.
This is not a traditional reading class. This is a joyful, supportive literacy experience where Ms. Sara does all of the reading. Students are free to listen, imagine, ask questions, grow vocabulary, practice written responses and short essays, participate in novel studies, create crafts, connect with animals, and begin to feel confident around books and stories. Because sometimes the first step isn’t teaching a child how to read—it’s helping them love reading first.
The greenhouse classroom is warm, peaceful, and full of life. It is designed to feel safe and inviting, a place where children can settle in, feel comfortable, and remember that learning can be joyful.
My Learning Farm READS! will meet on Tuesdays from September through November from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with space for only 12 students.
Sometimes the greatest gift we can give a child is not just stronger academic skills—it is helping them feel capable. Helping them feel successful. Helping them believe books belong to them, too.
That is what My Learning Farm READS! is all about.

Our Family đź’›
This dream is also deeply personal for our family. To my husband, Nick Mattia—thank you for always believing in the dream, even when it felt a little wild. Thank you for building what I imagine before I even know how to explain it. Thank you for supporting not only me, but the mission behind all of this.
Nick learns differently as does both of our children, Ava and Ryker. We know firsthand the challenges, frustrations, and sometimes heartbreak that can come when learning doesn’t fit neatly inside traditional boxes. But we also know the beauty—the creativity, the resilience, the brilliance, and the gifts. Our family’s work—our heart work—is helping children who learn differently know that about themselves, too.
This is not just a business. It is deeply personal. It is purpose. To everyone who helped build this dream—thank you.
Because every time a child walks onto this farm excited to learn, proud of themselves, and knowing they belong, that is the greatest return of all.
And that is everything. 🌾
