So Proud I Could Burst: Celebrating Every Reading Milestone đź’›

Every time a student completes a reading level, I feel a rush of joy, gratitude, and awe. You would think I might get used to it—but I don’t. I am SO proud I could just burst!

Because I know what went into getting there.

I see the hard work, the practice, the determination. I hear the careful sounding out, the rereading, and the willingness to try again when a word feels tricky. A completed level represents so many little moments of persistence, and I feel incredibly grateful to be there when all that effort comes together.

One of my favorite parts of My Learning Farm is the journey we share along the way. Through our time together, we build trust, rapport, and a sweet friendship. I get to learn what makes each child laugh, what sparks their curiosity, and what helps them feel ready to tackle something hard. And I happily cheer them on every step of the way.

Oh, the joy of listening to a student read something that once would have felt so difficult! Sometimes I find myself sitting there listening and thinking, Look at you. Listen to you. You worked so hard for this.

That is why I love choosing a special book prize when a student finishes a level. I thoughtfully select each book with that particular child in mind—their interests, their personality, and the things they love. My hope is that it feels like both a celebration and an invitation to keep exploring through reading.

woooooo-whoooooo youuuuuuu! I'm so PROUD of all you have put into building your amazing READING!!!!

This celebration is for my reptile- and lizard-loving friend. 🦎

I am so, SO proud of you. You have worked hard, kept practicing, and shown such determination. What a joy it is to listen to your beautiful reading! I hope your new books bring you fascinating creatures, wonderful discoveries, and plenty of reasons to turn another page.

Keep reading, my friend. I will be right here cheering you on.

These moments are at the heart of why I love what I do at My Learning Farm. Individualized reading instruction gives me the opportunity to support a child’s skills while getting to know the wonderful person doing all that learning. Every milestone is theirs to be proud of—and such a privilege for me to celebrate.

If your child is finding reading difficult and you’re wondering where to begin, I would love to help you explore a next step. Learn about individualized academic support and reading assessments at My Learning Farm.

There is so much joy in watching a child discover what they can do. And I never, ever get tired of being part of it. đź’›
